May 13, 2025 – Ignite is pleased to welcome Mr. Brett McWilliams as a Physics Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Deputy Program Manager of Missile Defense Programs. Mr. McWilliams joins Ignite through the company’s recent acquisition of Reliant Technologies.
Mr. McWilliams is a seasoned leader in technology innovation, physics, and defense systems with over 20 years of experience. Brett has driven advancements in AI/ML and digital engineering, establishing a state-of-the-art Digital Engineering Lab and securing over $700,000 in SBIR and Innovate Alabama grants to advance proprietary solutions for military and defense applications.
Brett plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI integration within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). He is the lead developer of a multi-faceted analysis architecture aimed at gaining insight into results from MDA’s only high-fidelity simulation, using tactics like machine learning, genetic algorithms, and advanced statistics.
Brett received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where his graduate research focused on nanotechnology-enhanced cancer treatments. His technical expertise spans Python, machine learning frameworks, and advanced simulation techniques, complemented by a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges and drive meaningful innovation.
