Ignite Welcomes Joel Buelow: A Distinguished Leader Joining Through SOCOM Internship Program

Ignite is thrilled to announce the addition of Joel Buelow to our team through the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Internship Program. With a distinguished twenty-one-year career in the Air Force as a Special Tactics Officer, Joel brings extensive expertise in leading special operations, enabling force projection, and directing the integration of fires and effects. Joel and his wife Dana are the proud parents of three successful teenagers, and he considers this his greatest accomplishment.

Joel commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy in 2003 and began his career as a Civil Engineer.  He cross trained into Special Tactics in 2004 and spent the remainder of his career serving within SOCOM organizations and commanding multiple operational units.  Joel served four tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as well as a multitude of other operational contingencies overseas in support of Joint Special Operations Command and USSOCOM. His experience in combat roles has covered the breadth of tactical, operational, and command positions.  Joel’s roles within Air Force Special Operations Command in the last 5 years include Deputy Division Chief Operations/Training, Deputy Division Chief Concept & Capability Development, and Deputy Commander 720 Special Tactics Group.

Now, as Joel embarks on his journey with Ignite as a SOCOM Intern, he will continue to serve the Air Force Special Operations community by addressing critical challenges across multiple domains. Throughout his internship, Joel will learn the “Ignite Way” and acquire essential skills and knowledge in defense contracting, business management, finance, and human resources that will ensure his continued professional success and force multiplying impact for the Department of Defense.

We are honored to welcome Joel to the Ignite team and look forward to the remarkable contributions he will undoubtedly make. Welcome aboard, Joel!
