Ignite is thrilled to welcome SGM Lonnie Dunbar as our newest DoD Skillbridge fellow!
Sergeant Major Lonnie Dunbar III is a native of Sacramento, CA. He enlisted in the Army in August 2000 as a Microwave Systems Operator and Maintainer. He became the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence in 2022.
SGM Dunbar has 20+ years of experience in designing, installing, securing, and maintaining IT infrastructure and communication networks. Toward the later half of his career, he had the pleasure of enhancing those skills in the space domain while learning DoD capability development, acquisition, and financial management.
SGM Dunbar’s military and civilian education include Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology from Grantham University and a Masters in Cybersecurity from Webster University.
